Continuing our “99 Bottles of Beer” blog series, let’s try out a Longboard Island Lager:
It’s a bright yellow color, and very carbonated. Surprisingly, no head when I poured it into a glass.
Almost none. Certainly not hoppy, which is to be expected, since it’s a lager.
Very light and refreshing. A little chewy, with no aftertaste.
A little chewy, and definitely more carbonated than flat.
I like it. Quite drinkable, and paired off well with the delicious Japanese curry my wife made. The curry had a ton of jalapeño in it (definitely not standard for Japanese curry but an awesome addition), and the beer complements it nicely. Give it a try!
